Property Description
This 2000 square foot, four-season lodge is nestled in between towering Hemlocks on the quiet north shore of 2nd Lake. Wake up to the birds chirping and the sun glistening off the water as you enjoy a cup of coffee from either of the 2 lakeside decks. This very secluded spacious 1970s camp was designed by the owner’s grandfather and has been a family-friendly gathering place for many years. Thus, what you experience here is authentic Adirondack charm blended with all the modern conveniences in a lodge that feels more like home than a house for rent. Relaxing here comes easy. Whether it’s sitting by the large roaring stone fireplace to break the chill, roasting marshmallows around the fire pit by the lake, sun-tanning on the new and spacious dock, grilling out on the deck as you hear loon calls echo across the lake or sprawling out on the hammock for an afternoon nap, you will understand what stress-free means when you are here. Summertime on the lake brings many fun activities (swimming, boating, water-skiing, fishing, sun tanning, etc.) all of which can be enjoyed from the dock which is tucked into a bit of a cove. The dock can accommodate two motorboats should you bring/rent your own. There is a stone staircase leading into the lake where you will find an open and comfortable swimming area with a sandy bottom. The swimming area is perfect for kids and adults as there are both shallow and deep areas (gradually gets deeper as you walk out). There is also a ladder attached to the end of the dock in about 4 feet of water.
There is an island not too far away with a rope swing and grounds to explore. 2nd Lake is the quietest of all four lakes (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) making any one of the summertime activities (canoeing, waterskiing, swimming) safe and easy. And because this lodge is tucked away into a cove, you have lots of water to explore without being disturbed by passing boats. Also being south facing, there is lots of sunshine and the prevailing winds blow toward the camp reducing the number of bugs. Easy access to the snowmobile trail system in the winter with an extra trailer parking area as well.
